Heat illness can affect indoor athletes as well as outdoor athletes. For indoor athletes this is almost always preventable by maintaining proper hydrationn and wearing approproate clothing. Outdoor athletes benefit from acclimatization, proper hydration, and adequate protection from the elements. This can range from providing location that supplies air conditioning to a well-ventilated restroom or shaded area. Remember to hydrate before, and during activity as well as afterward as needed.
