Prevention and Treatment of Youth Sport Injuries
an Online Resource

Field care is the beginning of injury in athletics. For outdoor facilities all pits and valleys (ant hills, and sprinkler heads) should be filled in. Indoor facilities should be free of slick and sticky (sweat and sports drink) spots. The majority of sprains and strains occur from unexpected perturbances in the playing field or due to falling over equipment placed too close to the playing field such as seats, benches, tables, and equipment trailers.
