When It’s Time To Visit The Urgent Care This Holiday

When you or a loved one suddenly needs immediate medical attention during a holiday, you have to make a quick decision between Urgent Care and the ER. Both places offer care that is readily available even in the absence of your doctor, but how do you settle for either choice? It becomes a dilemma especially during holidays when emergency rooms are notoriously trafficked.

Most urgent care facilities are staffed with doctors, nurse practitioners and medical staff that can treat a variety of conditions. The time to be treated and cost of a trip to an urgent care is much less than an emergency room visit. Bond Clinic’s Urgent Care is open 8am-8pm, 365 days a year and we are proud to have been voted the Best of Winter Haven for six consecutive years. Some of the medical conditions seen at an urgent care include:

• Cold, flu or fever

• Eye or ear infection

• Minor chest pain/anxiety attacks

• Minor COPD/ Asthma exacerbation

• Minor burns

• Minor vomiting or diarrhea

• Pressure ulcers

• Rash or insect bites

• Sore throat or cough

• Sprains, strains or sports injuries

• Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

• Wound infections/Cellulitis

• Other sudden minor illness or injury

We spoke with Bond Clinic Medical Director & Primary Care Physician Dr. Juan Rivera about the importance of urgent care facilities. “While we always suggest seeing your physician first, having an urgent care gives our patients a peace of mind if they encounter a medical situation that requires quicker response. These after-hour clinics can treat a number of conditions with professional caregivers,” says Dr. Rivera.
